Skills for Life in Salford
![]() | Salford Community Learning Partnership |
The Salford Community Learning Partnership (CLP) working with the Lifelong Learning Service of Salford City Council has been successful in securing ESF funding for the project that will run until December 2007.
Employees and volunteers of community and voluntary sector organisations will be offered the opportunity to gain professional qualifications in Skills for Life; attend workshops and work with other experienced organisations to help them become better equipped to meet the needs of their client group.
The project will support organisations at different levels:
- It will offer FREE training on the Level 2 Certificate in Learning Support course. The Awareness Certificate is a 2-unit award that will develop awareness and understanding of the issues surrounding adult literacy and numeracy and it is relevant to front line staff. The full Level 2 Certificate provides training for those who wish to support learners in a learning environment, working under the guidance of a specialist teacher.
- IT training on the British Computer Society Level 1 and Level 2 Certificate.
- Training at Level 3 and Level 4 Certificate (subject specific).
- The opportunity to attend workshops to share good practice and information on topics such as bid writing and the impact of the inspection of ESF projects.
