Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector Level 3 / 4

Part-time. Includes 30 hours of self directed learning.

The qualification is delivered over five days, one day per week for five weeks. The qualification replaces all other entry to teaching qualifications. It is a mandatory entry requirement for anyone who teaches in the Adult Learning Sector on any funded learning programme. Over 100 candidates have already achieved this qualification with KSS. This course ideal for new entrants to teaching or anyone who wishes to refresh their teaching skills.


Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector level 3 / 4 (Associate Teacher).

Part-time

The course is targeted at candidates who need to progress towards becoming either an Associate Teacher, (ATLS) or a Full Teacher (QTLS).

The Associate Teacher role is defined as someone who teaches predominantly in one of the following ways:

  • From packs/pre-prepared materials
  • On a one-to-one basis
  • A programme confined to a particular level/subject/type of learner
  • Short courses

Entry requirements: ability to work at level 2 Literacy, Numeracy and ICT


Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector Full Teacher leading to (QTLS)

Part-time

The course is targeted at candidates who need to progress towards becoming either an Associate Teacher, (ATLS) or a Full Teacher (QTLS).

The Full Teacher role is defined as someone who teaches predominantly in one of the following ways:

  • Using materials they have designed and evaluated
  • Across a range of level/subjects/learner types
  • Across or contributes to a range of programmes of varying lengths

Entry requirements: ability to work at level 2 Literacy, Numeracy and ICT.
