Part time
This programme is delivered on a part-time basis, one evening a week for 5-30 weeks.
The course covers how to help people find out about the learning opportunities available locally, help people to take that step back into education and support people with their learning either formally or informally. A Learning Champion's key roles are to promote the value of learning and training, signpost people to training opportunities and boost people's confidence to access training/learning.
Certificate in Adult Learning Support Literacy Specialist Level 3
Part time
The award is aimed at full or part-time staff in the post-16 sector who are supporting or wish to support adult literacy learners under the supervision/guidance of an adult literacy teacher or those wishing to become Adult Literacy Subject Supporters. You should have Level 2 Literacy (GCSE English or equivalent), have access to a minimum of 15 hours relevant teaching practice within Further Education/Adult & Community Learning/Work Based Learning settings, teaching at least 2 different levels. Candidates who are teaching other subjects should have an initial teaching qualification at Level 3 or above.
