Pathway 1: Learning Support: (full award)

The full level 2 Certificate in Learning Support (Literacy, Numeracy or ESOL), provides training for those who wish to support learners, working under the guidance of a specialist teacher.

If you wish to support Adult Literacy, Numeracy or ESOL learners then you need to be competent at level 2 in the relevant subject.

Core units:

• Unit 001 Literacy, language, numeracy and ICT needs for work, education and life
• Unit 005 Supporting learners

Plus one unit from:

• Unit 002 Skills check and signposting
• Unit 003 Inclusive approaches to providing information
• Unit 004 Supporting and promoting a responsive service

and one unit from:

• Unit 006 Develop an understanding of Literacy
• Unit 007 Develop an understanding of Numeracy
• Unit 008 Develop and understanding of ESOL

Pathway 2: Literacy, Numeracy and ICT Awareness:

The Level 2 award in Literacy, Language, Numeracy and ICT awareness has been designed to stand alone and is intended to provide awareness of the Skills for Life strategy in England for those who promote access to learning.

Core unit:

• Unit 001 Literacy, language, numeracy and ICT needs for work, education and life

Plus one optional unit from:

• Unit 002 Skills check and signposting
• Unit 003 Inclusive approaches to providing information
• Unit 004 Supporting and promoting a responsive service
